Junior Marathoners

September 2, 2010 - The Junior Marathoners Awards Event will be held on Tuesday, September 14th, 6:30-7:30pm at Green Lakes State Park (Fayetteville) in the reserved picnic area pavilion, which is near the Frisbee golf field. Remember that your child's mileage must be by September 6th in order for he/she to receive an award. No need to send in your logbooks - they are yours to keep.

Green Lakes State Park Master Plan

August 26, 2010 - The Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) is pleased to announce the completion of the Draft Master Plan/Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for Green Lakes State Park. OPRHP will be holding a public hearing regarding the Draft Master Plan and Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the park and encourages the public to participate in the planning efforts, welcoming all comments on the Draft Master Plan/DEIS.

The hearing will be held on September 16, 2010 at 7:00 PM. in the Fayetteville Village Hall located at 425 East Genesee Street, Fayetteville, NY. State Parks staff will make a brief presentation about the master plan and will be available to receive public comments.

Ironman Syracuse 70.3 Merchandise Store Part-Time Staff Needed!

August 25, 2010 - Ironman Syracuse 70.3 is coming to town in under four weeks. While there are many volunteer opportunities available within the race, the Ironman Merchandise Store is in search of professional and hard-working individuals to work throughout race week in paid, part-time, temporary positions. Jobs within the store will include, but are not limited to: set-up/breakdown of the store, inventory, cashiering, customer assistance, and ensuring that the store remains tidy and organized. Syracuse Track Club Awards Scholarships

June 18, 2010 - The Syracuse Track Club recently announced its thirteenth annual Constantino Scholarship winners. Overall winners Maggie Mocete of Corcoran High School, and Peter Ferstler of East Syracuse Minoa High School, were awarded scholarships of $1,000 each. Runner-up awards of $500 each, sponsored by Wilber-Duck Chevrolet & Buick of Oneida, went to Meaghan Liddell of Cazenovia High School, and Eric Resiweber of Cortland High School. The scholarships are given to high school senior runners by the Syracuse Track Club in honor of George Constantino, the late Nottingham track coach and a founder of the club.
